Student Design Awards

Got a great design idea or product design?

If you are a student currently at college or university and you have a passion for design, then why not take part in the Student Design Award, organised in conjunction with Design Show Liverpool?

The competition is open to all higher education students in UK and is aimed at recognising emerging designers with imagination and passion. The winner and two runners-up will have a unique opportunity to present their work on a national stage at one of the key design events of 2008. What’s more, the winning candidate will receive a £500 cash prize, and the chance to have their idea made into a real product by the competition’s sponsors DuPont Corian®.

 

About the show

Design Show Liverpool is a public event, running from 19 –22 June 2008 at the Contemporary Urban Centre. More than 150 contemporary designers from across the country will be exhibiting their unique creations, many of which will be for sale.

Exhibits will include:
  • Jewellery
  • Fashion
  • Homewares
  • Garden objects and features
  • Children’s furniture and toys
  • Eco-friendly design items
  • Furniture

Students will have the rare opportunity to meet designers, discuss their work and inspiration, buy products direct from the designers and pick up a few ideas along the way. There will also be catwalk fashion shows, events, workshops and product demonstrations throughout each day.
