In bringing a philosophy of deconstruction into her work, Xianou Ni is fascinated by creating sculptural yet wearable jewellery. Through her work she tries to set a new language to discuss the contradiction between nature and machinery - focusing on the complexity and instability of the present age.
Currently Xianou is working as an artist in Residence at London Metropolitan University and developing her new collections of jewellery within her design idea in mixed metals, such as : Silver, gold and mild steel, etc. This gives both textural and color contrast. She Combines these with natural materials: pearls and natural stone; these materials are transformed into eye catching pieces when put on the body.
