Rebecca Holland is a maker that specialises in sculpture driven by repeat processes, material manipulation and units on mass. Initial inspiration derives from experimentation with bacteria, drawing onto petri dishes and working with imagery developed through photography. The work is a continuation on this theme. The work is made up of two strands. One strand consists of wearable sculpture encapsulated in resin contained in cup shaped brooches. The other strand consists of larger sculptural instillation pieces made up of multiple units. Both strands aim to create timeless wearable and non-wearable sculptural objects.
Resin and wire are the main materials used and processes include wrapping, threading and knotting wire to create sculptural units. Resin is used to encapsulate and add colour to the pieces.
