I am a practicing contemporary jeweller based in Manchester, my inspiration is drawn from my urban surroundings. My work is characterised by sleek clean lines suggestive of modern architecture.
In this innovative collection of work, to debut at Design show Liverpool I have invited both order and chaos into the creative process. I create patterns that explore this contradiction using strict geometric shapes and juxtaposing them in random arrangements. This approach means each piece, though similar in style, is in fact completely unique in its detail. Thus each one is a handmade bespoke item and can never be identically reproduced.
I work with silver which I use to construct the body and foundation of a piece. I either leave this framework untouched preserving its subtle and elegant form or I add coloured resin to give the piece an all together more solid and defined expression.
