Gillies Jones Glass


Gillies Jones is a partnership between glassmaker and artist.
For 18 years we have worked together , through international apprenticeship most notable with Baldwin Guggisberg , to opening our own studio in 1995.

All this time our individual interests in hot and cold glass have combined to make functional and sculptural work can be found in both public and private collections.

Our work is an ongoing exploration and evolution of recurrent themes, which have fascinated us for many years.

Stephen’s interests lie in mastery of technique in hot glass and Kate’s are drawing and mark making drawn from observations , details and connections between elements of the natural world.

We are completely engaged with the material: - the technical challenges of making vessels , its unique beautiful qualities and equally its ability to communicate our interests and ideas.
