Chris Eckersley

Chris Eckersley is an artist and designer who designs contemporary furniture and objects, with an emphasis on good proportion, fine detailing and sculptural form.

He offers an imaginative and professional design service, which includes developing prototypes for manufacturers, producing finely crafted one-off pieces for private commissions, and the creation of new work which is shown at exhibitions throughout the UK.

Chris believes in responsible design, and aims to produce work which will have a lasting appeal and will remain useful in the future.

’Juliette’ (the-wheelbarrow-which-is-also-a-garden-seat) has been chosen by Sir Terence Conran to feature in his new book ‘Terence Conran’s Inspiration’. The book brings together Sir Terence’s personal selection of inspirational products and ideas, and is to be published in September 2008.

Chris Eckersley has won two awards at the V&A Classic Design Awards, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.  He lives and works in Birmingham.
