Andrea Jones has been designing and making contemporary handmade jewellery for 8 years now, from her workshop in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter. Her work consists of jewellery using contrasting combinations of colour and texture, which are achieved by the use of different metals, enamel, wood, leather, felt or by selective patination of the same piece.
Andrea’s ranges contain pieces for the everyday wearer to the more one off elaberate pieces and Design Show Liverpool will see for the first time, at a retail show, new additions to her ever popular ranges
Corners and Curves, Butterfly and Oriental.
Several techniques are used in the general making, such as forming, riveting, hammering, stamping and piercing, but the main thing is when it comes to adding the colour or texture. This is not always
straight forward and techniques such as enameling and patination can be quite random and varied, making each piece individual.
