Alison Willoughby is an established and innovative textile designer. She applies her textile design to skirts, hand constructed bespoke skirts, which have been sold and exhibited internationally. Materials used are eclectic new and salvaged cotton, men’s tie silks which have been manipulated into ‘sushi rolls’, linen and wool have been collected and combined to fuse cutting edge and classic fabric manipulation to construct upcycled skirts, for a woman who shops in independent boutiques and department stores and ranges in age from 30-75, prices range from £350 - £7000. Clients include The Pure Living Lounge at Selfridges, Labour of Love - London, Mint, Johnny Moke, Yum Yum Jelly, Sooc Boutique, Ysh in Tokyo and in Kuwait and Dubai - Coco Ribbons. Arts Council England, Liberty Plc, The British Council, Numerous Urban Outfitters Stores in both London and Glasgow, Habitat, Oilily, ZPM-London, Tse Cashmere, Club Monaco, Tait and Style Knitwear. She was awarded the prestigious Crafts Council Development award in 2002 and has been selected to participate in Chelsea Crafts Fair and Origin: The London Craft Fair. She also regularly undertakes private commissions. Her book was launched in March and will be selling it at Design Show Liverpool.
