PLACES MATTER

Tuesday 10 June 2008
6.00pm – 8.00pm

The RENEW Rooms, 82 Wood Street, Liverpool

Interface: Architecture, Design and Craft

This evening event will take the form of a debate looking at the interplay between architecture, craft and design, and questioning why they have come to be viewed as unrelated activities. Historically these approaches were often more fully integrated and they are now increasingly viewed as separate disciplines.

Chaired by Michael Craven, Director of the Architecture Centre Network, representatives from each of the three disciplines will speak followed by questions from the audience. Drinks and refreshments will be served.

More information will follow shortly on our website: www.renew.co.uk

Places Matter! aims to drive up the quality of place making in the North West.

Supported by our core partners, the programme facilitates improved decision making and commissioning skills, as well as increased awareness of, and expectations for, high quality design amongst clients and developers, consists of a number of complementary strands including, a regional Design Review Panel service, research into the economic value of urban design, a schools education programme, a support and training network for public sector champions and decision makers, and a public realm good practice guide.
